Unfortunately, PLA is not in use in many places at the moment. The reason for this is the technical capability. Although it has been known for few decades now that bioplastics are good for the environment, it never got widely used. While many scientists and developers gave up on the research, we never stopped. We have persistently continued to put our efforts into research and development.
For example, to carry out injection molding with the normal PLA, it was not crystallizable and therefore had to slow down the cooling speed (elongating cooling hours). On the other hand, PlaX that uses our additives has an improved crystallization mechanism hence has a faster rate of crystallization speed. For this reason, it is possible to take on the same molding process as the common resin. Furthermore, manufacturing can be done in any factory, as molding under 100-degree Celsius of water is possible.
We will continue to strive in accumulating knowledge and efforts in order to advance R&D and will contribute in accelerating a more sustainable society.

The method of injection blow molding is suited for products such as cosmetic bottle packaging that is usually small and specially designed shape. However, bioplastic had many problems including breakage and deformation. Adding five per cent of our additive can solve this problem as we know that PLA can be used with a standard plastic pet bottle metal mold.
Bioworks is the only company that can produce bioplastics that is 100% plant-derived, biodegradable and heat resistant from water at boiling temperature and microwaves.
The method of extrusion blow molding is often used for shampoo bottle and poly tank production. Extrusion blow molding was considered to be difficult with normal PLA as the resin cannot hold its structure when extruding a tube shape.
However, we were able to better the thickening function with the normal resin mold with our proprietary developed additive in PlaX. It is able to be extruded in a hollow state without drawdown. Molding will be possible with the PLA on the market. We plan to continue our business through challenging in manufacturing products with large scale molds such as air duct in cars.
