At the ILS 2017 (Innovation Leaders Summit) held on the 15th of October, Bioworks was selected by major corporations as a Top 20 startup company out of the 500 venture companies that participated and appeared as a speaker at the ILS TOP 20 Startup Pitch. This event is Asia’s biggest open innovation conference aimed to produce global innovations by power matching a startup company’s ideas or technology with a major corporations’ asset.

CEO Imai’s interview appeared in a SankeiBiz article released on the 2nd October under the title, “Frontline of eco-friendliness, a 100% plant-based biodegradable plastic”. The article mentioned the history of Bioworks and introduces the proprietary developed PLA modifier.
